Child Safety & Online Safety

We have zero tolerance for child abuse and exploitation. Child safety considerations are built into how accounts, the tutor and moderation work, and are reviewed whenever a feature changes.

• No social layer — students cannot message, friend, see or be seen by other students. There is no public profile and no user-generated content feed.
• Parent-controlled accounts — an adult creates each child profile and can read every draft and every tutor exchange.
• Minimal identity data — we ask for a first name or nickname and a year level; we ask families not to enter full names, schools or addresses.
• Education-only AI — every tutor request is filtered for topic, age-appropriateness, violence, sexual content, self-harm and extremism before and after generation. Off-topic requests are declined.
• No advertising — there are no ads, no ad networks and no behavioural profiling of children.
• Full transcripts — tutor dialogue is retained so a parent or teacher can audit exactly what was said.

If a draft or message indicates possible harm or distress, the tutor stops the writing task, responds with a brief supportive message and directs the student to a trusted adult and to Kids Helpline (1800 55 1800). Such events are flagged for the account holder.

Access to student content is limited to staff who need it for support or safety review, is logged, and requires the account holder's request except where a safety investigation or legal obligation applies. Staff in child-contact roles hold current Working with Children checks where required by their state or territory.
